Dr. Barry Odesnik

BVSc , BVSc (hons)

Dr. Barry Odesnik qualified as a veterinarian in South Africa in 1987. After spending two years as a military veterinarian, he entered small animal private practice. In 2000 he completed a three year post-graduate degree in Small Animal Internal Medicine.

Barry Odesnik

Barry and his family immigrated to Perth in 2000. After working for one year as an emergency veterinarian, he spent the next six years in a busy small animal practice. Dr. Barry has a special interest in veterinary dermatology, cardiology and management of osteoarthritis.

Dr. Jennifer Wiseman

BVSc BVMS (Hons)

Dr. Jennifer Wiseman graduated from Murdoch University in 2006 at the top of her class. After working in a small animal practice in Mandurah for 4 years, she joined the team at Vital Vet in 2010.

Dr. Jen has a special interest in general clinical medicine with an emphasis on endocrinology.

Dr. Michelle Goerke

BSc BVMS MANZCVS

Dr. Michelle Goerke graduated as a veterinarian from Murdoch University on 1991. She has a special interest in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Critical Care, having completed a residency program and attaining her membership qualification in this field. After teaching veterinary students for many years she returned to general practice several years ago and was thrilled to join the Vital Vet team in 2018.

Lara Odesnik

Veterinary Nurse

Lara has been qualified as a veterinary nurse for more than 20 years. She received a diploma in veterinary nursing in South Africa in 1988.

She has worked in small animal practice for 20 years and has worked for a veterinary nutrition company as well as a veterinary pharmaceutical company.

Lara has two children, Gaby and Brendan, Emmy a golden retriever and three beautiful cats.

Pat Morris

Veterinary Nurse, RVN

Pat Morris is a fully qualified veterinary nurse with many years of experience. Pat has a special interest in Australian wildlife. She has two Golden retrievers,  Harry and Posie and a little Poodle x called Dudley!

Katie Harris

Veterinary Nurse, RVN

Katie has been a veterinary nurse since 2005, mainly working in small animal practices.

Katie has a Jack Russell Terrier x, Toby,  guinea pigs, a flock of chooks, a horse called Jarrah and a small family of goldfish and koi. Katie has a keen interest in nutrition and exotic animal medicine.

Jaimie James

Veterinary Nurse, RVN

Jaimie has worked in the industry for many years at many clinics; qualifying in 2000. She had a break to have kids and return to nursing when she joined the Vital Vet team. She owns a border collie called Ripley, a little old lady, Indi, her kitty called Heff and rather large flock of chooks 🙂

Bethany Burns

Veterinary Nurse, RVN

Bethany Burns graduated as a qualified veterinary nurse in 2004, but has been in the industry for over 10 years in small animal practice. Wildlife and puppy school are her passion.

Bethany has a wonderful family consisting of husband Ben, baby girl Isla, Harry a pure bred Corgi, Chihuahua’s Kiara and Eevee, Bundy the Siamese, and several snakes and an assortment of birds! Bethany runs our Puppy Preschool Class.

Cayla Gillies

Veterinary Nurse, RVN

Cayla is our youngest team member and graduated in 2014. She owns a Maltese x called Chandler and a an adopted kitty called Joey. She is huge Friends fan and loves her Disney!

Rae

Veterinary Nurse, RVN

Rae graduated in 2005 and  works in mixed practices (both small animals, like dogs and large animals (equine)). After a break from full-time to start locuming, Rae decided to join our team in 2016. Rae owns two cats, Diva and Flame, two dogs, Roxy the Collie and a Belgian shepherd called Lore. She also owns a horse called Rogue.

Angie James-Wallace

Practice Manager

Angie worked as a practice manager for an allied health clinic for five years before joining the Vital Vet team in 2012.

Angie takes care of all things non-veterinary, making sure that the administrative tasks are taken care of and that the team can focus on their patients. Angie has a rescue Greyhound called Django

Dr. Ariadna Marczak

AIM Surgical Services

BVSc BVMS. MACVs (Small Animal Surgery)

Dr. Ariadna Marczak graduated from Murdoch University in 1998 and worked in small animal hospitals in Perth and the UK, including 2 years at the Murdoch University Pet Emergency Centre.

Dr. Ariadna completed her membership at the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Surgery in 2008, and now provides a referral service in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery to Vital Vet, allowing complicated surgeries to be performed onsite. Dr. Ariadna has two busy little whippets, Logan and Georgie.
