Microchipping

Microchipping your pet at Vital Vet Animal Hospital gives them a permanent form of identification, better ensuring they can always be reunited with you if they ever become lost.

Microchipping

It is now compulsory to have all cats and dogs microchipped. Microchipping is the only way to permanently identify your pet.

The microchip is approximately the size of a grain of rice and is injected subcutaneously under the skin of the neck area.

The chip contains a unique number that is registered together with your information on a database.

The injection is well tolerated in most patients but the small amount of pain is worth the security of knowing your pet is identifiable should they get lost.

Always make sure that the information registered to the microchip is current and has your up-to-date contact details.
