Weight Management
Obesity has a profound effect on our pet’s health. Obesity can increase risk for many cancers, make dogs more prone to pancreatitis and increase the incidence of sugar diabetes in both cats and dogs.
Health Check and Routine Services
Vaccinations
Our dog vaccination schedule (C5) includes protection against Canine Parvovirus, Distemper and Infectious Canine Hepatitis as well as the respiratory organisms – Parainfluenza virus and the contagious bacterial pathogen called Bordatella.
Deworming
Puppies and kittens are frequently infested with worms. It is therefore important to repeatedly deworm them in the first few months of their lives. A broad-spectrum deworming agent is recommended every two weeks from the age of 6 to 12 weeks, then monthly from 3 to 6 months of age.

Vital Vet has a temperature controlled hydrobath and we offer a number of bathing options..
Microchipping
It is now compulsory to have all cats and dogs microchipped. Microchipping is the only way to permanently identify your pet. The microchip is approximately the size of a grain of rice and is injected subcutaneously under the skin of the neck area.
Nutrition
Gastrointestinal health is linked with the health of every other organ in the body, including the brain. When feeding your pet, always strive to optimise the diet. A diet that is adequate is ….. just adequate.

Puppy Preschool
Puppy preschool is a great way to understand and modify your puppy’s behaviour and form positive habits early. Where possible, we refer all our puppies to Perth Animal Training Services in Wangara. PATS is operated by a Charlotte Smithson, a trainer and behavioural expert with fantastic credentials.
Sterilisation
Sterilisation (orchidectomy) in male dogs involves surgical removal of the testes and in the female dog, surgical removal of the uterus and ovaries (ovariohysterectomy).
